Typically the optic would be sighted off of either an aiming stake, aiming circle, or the red potion of another artillery sight. It is a little bit dirty but in good condition with much of the original paint. Both levels are still working. The optics and pretty clear and the reticle illumination works well. I love these leggings! Purchased Navy seriously I have had a gazillion brands, styles types, ie. flare, etc. over my legging years of which there are many. These are the best so far. Perfect for ME. I am 112lbs. 5'1" so not 'normal human size' as my kids say. The small is perfect. Hits 'capri' length on my smaller frame a little longer for me so yay for that too. So, I bought two pairs on sale....one in navy and the other in taupe. Both pairs have a streak mark on the same side, same exact area. I'm on the fence about returning them but I did get them on sale and if the mark doesn't come out in the wash, I can't really wear the in public unless I wear something long to cover the upper thigh area. They fit great and are very comfortable but then there is that unsightly mark. For reference, I am just under 5'0, 105 lbs and bought size small. I will have a think about it the next few days about returning them...or not.
