The cipher is two interlocking Ls similar to the emblem on Sevres porcelain and Louis XIV . Unusually the base of this fob is made out of platinum which helps date the piece to the end of the 19th century. French jewellers began incorporating platinum into jewellery and refined the manufacturing process of platinum from 1870 onwards. Its
