Ideal for reenacting and displays since they are virtually identical to war time Eg gu but newer made (1950s 1960s) so you don't have to feel bad about beating it up a bit. This is a new old stock item, with some black shoe polish inside, although the polish has dried out and shrunken quite a bit. I had another one of these that I was able to empty out and revitalize the paste with heat
