It features the double wire buckle variation and first pattern spring clips, which have a straight bottom edge and holes in the metal, approximately dating the headband's production to early 1942. The leather is marked with the original owner's name and serial number, an apparent "Edward Gruendler, 23914028". This would be an ideal headband for all helmet

Finish is fine but sizing is wrong and these don't fit tight but rattle. About 3/4" movement in all ways, which will lead to scratched paint.
If you've got a beater, these are fine but for my clean M3, I'll buy OEM from FCP or Turner.
