It’s close to the Quicksilver Mercruiser starter but it’s not the same length and size. Also the internal gear sits differently. My 2012 Tahoe Mercruiser Alpha 3.0 has a back bracket that would not fit on because this starter is longer. I didn’t take the risk of testing it out by starting it as I noticed the gear inside sits a bit different and there is a knob on the front of the housing as the original does not. I’m not taking any chances. I just returned it and ordered the actual Quicksilver Starter that’s a little more $$ but totally worth it to have a proper fit.

Used for 1 month last summer then, over the winter I had my boat winterized and upon summerizing it, the starter displayed a "flat" spot where it would not crank unless turned and tried again.
