Interwar Tall German Mess KitInterwar or civilian political tall aluminum mess kit. It has some dents and wear. The steel bits are a bit rusty. I believe the rivets in the lid are possibly a source for leaking if you put soup or water in there. See pictures. The handle rivets are holding tight, but it just looks like there might be a leak point there. The mess kit does have the fork spoon clips like in the WWI mess kits.
