Wooden relief by Herman StillingLarge format wooden relief by Herman Stilling. Herman Stilling (1925 1996) was a Danish artist who created paintings, drawings, collages, and mosaics. His work was inspired by fellow Dane Hans Christian Andersen in the mythological, surreal subjects he often depicts in particular the troll, who Stilling saw both as an extension of himself and as his own artistic creation. His work was met with much praise, gaining recognition through exhibitions
