The illustrations are bright and friendly and the board book format is sturdy, so it holds up well with little hands flipping pages a bit aggressively. The rhyming flows okay, not perfect poetry but not awkward either. That said, the concept might be a little abstract for very young kids depending on their age. Mine liked the pictures but didn’t fully connect the idea without explanation, so it ended up being more of a guided read than an independent “get it right away” story.
