My kids dropped the old remote far too many times, and being made of aluminum, it dented and the IR piece in the front broke. I even bought a new remote, BUT, once I put this case on the old one (gluing the IR window back on), I discovered I no longer need the new remote, as this will last a long long time. I wish I had bought this from the start. Why didn't I? because I thought it would make it bulkier.
