Februar 1939 statt, die Indienststellung am 24. August 1940. Die groe Operation, an der die Bismarck teilnahm, war die Operation Rheinbung im Mai 1941 zusammen mit der Prinz Eugen, um im Nordatlantik gegen die alliierten Geleitzge Handelskrieg zu fhren.
