The hardware is green painted steel, approximately dating its production from mid 1942 to late 1943. It exhibits third pattern spring clips, which have a fold in the metal's bottom edge. Although I've bought many "premium" drying towels, none come even close to this one. It is effortless, no pressure needed to dry. If it touches a drop of water, it's gone. I dried a full size SUV top to bottom, and the towel barely felt damp. It even pulls water out from between body panels. Yes it does cost a lot, but I'm blown away by how quick this does the job. If you wash your car, you need this. My wife even asked if they make one like this for drying dogs. Would probably work great, but she can't have this one.
